Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra

The Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra is a a partner of the European Piano Contest Bremen for many years. The finalists are able to present their program with a superb orchestra in an outstanding concert hall.

Opera or Philharmonic concert, cross-over project, or chamber music, charity concert or young musicians - through its diverse artistic commitment the Bremen Philharmonic and its music director Mark Poschner are one of the mainstay of the Northwest German musical life.
As one of the world's most traditional orchestra with a nearly 200-year history, the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra presents himself almost daily. The heart of the presence of the orchestra's subscription is the concert series at the Bremen "Glocke", where the orchestra presents over 60 concerts per season. There are also special concerts such as for example the Christmas concert and some 175 opera performances at the Theater Bremen. Its own chamber music series of the orchestra members and numerous projects to promote young musical talent are also available.
World-class soloists such as Frank Peter Zimmermann, Gidon Kremer, Rudolf Buchbinder, Sol Gabetta and Arcadi Volodos and conductors including Christopher Hogwood, Mario Venzago and Peter Schneider keep coming back to Bremen to make music with the Philharmonic.
Not least, the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra presents his high artistic quality at concert tours in Germany and abroad - most recently to the Festival de Musica Religiosa de Cuenca (Spain) or the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
