PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

The application deadline of the 18th European Piano Competition Bremen has been extended until September 30, 2023. The conditions of participation and the program are unchanged. The first round is a preliminary video round. Please read the announcement and all instructions carefully. We are looking forward to your application!

Date

The next European Piano Competition will take place from 6th February (arrival) to 13th February 2024 (final round) in Bremen. The first round of the competition will be held as a video preliminary round. The evaluation of the applications will take place in autumn 2023.

Eligible for participation

are pianists from Europe including the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)*, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey and Israel.
* These include: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazachstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus. Also eligible are contestants from Georgia and Ukraine.

Prizes

2024 the following prizes will be awarded:
1st prize 10,000 € — Die Sparkasse Bremen
2nd prize 7,500 € — the Saacke family
3rd prize 5,000 € — the Osmers family
Audience Award 2,500 € — Glocke-Veranstaltungs GmbH

Special Awards

2024 the following prizes will be awarded:
2,000 € Special Award 2024
for the youngest semi-finalist, Heinz Peter und Annelotte Koch-Stiftung
1,000 € Special Award 2024
Siegrid Ernst-Prize for the best interpretation of a piece composed by a female composer — Archiv Frau und Musik
